The Short Version

Recognition and Readiness. Both matter.

The SCLA Honor Society is invitation-only. It recognizes students who have demonstrated academic excellence — typically a GPA of 3.0 or higher, as determined by your institution. Honor Society membership is earned, selective, and carries national recognition that follows you beyond graduation.

SCLA Academy is open enrollment. Any student at a participating campus can join, regardless of GPA. It's built around career preparation — the tools, experiences, learning programs, and credentials that help you compete for internships, jobs, and graduate programs. Academy is where you build. Honor Society is where you're recognized for what you've built.
