No. Academy is open to any enrolled college student. No invitation, no application, no GPA requirement. All you need is your university email.

The Live Academy Kickoff is a live orientation session the SCLA team runs for new Academy members. It walks you through how Academy works, introduces you to peers from other colleges, and gives you a clear first-30-day action plan. Attendance isn't required. A recorded version lands in your dashboard within 24 hours if you can't make it live.

Your membership includes Practice Round (AI Interview Simulator), Career Path Finder, a resume builder, Study Edge (Academic Success System), Micro-Internships (first one included at launch), learning programs, a credentials wallet, job application templates, professional outreach templates, a progress dashboard, and a national student community to connect with. Everything's unlocked from your first login.

No. Start anywhere. Most students begin with Career Path Finder or the resume builder, but your dashboard is open from day one, so just go wherever you need help most.

Yes. Work through them on your own schedule, and you'll earn your credential when you finish.

Depending on what you complete, you can earn digital badges, micro-certificates, a Career Foundations Certification, an SCLA-issued Letter of Recognition for completed Micro-Internships, and a letter of recommendation.

A six-week, self-paced professional project connected to a real participating company. You select a project from the opportunity library, complete the work using SCLA's templates and resources, and submit a professional presentation and project brief. When you finish, you walk away with an SCLA-issued Letter of Recognition naming the company, a digital credential, 3 college credits (transfer eligibility varies by institution), and something real for your portfolio.

Yes. The company name goes on your resume as the organization your project was connected to, not as an employer. Your Letter of Recognition and digital credential go in your credentials wallet and are shareable directly to LinkedIn. The portfolio artifact gives you a specific project to discuss in every interview.

Yes. During our national launch period, the first Micro-Internship is included with every Academy enrollment. After the launch period, additional Micro-Internships will be available for $149 each.

We suggest approximately 10 hours per week over four to six consecutive weeks. The program is self-paced, so you can move faster or take more time. The more consistently you work, the stronger your final deliverable.

Yes. Everything is virtual. All sessions, mentorship, and project work happen online.

No, it's unpaid. What you get instead is the credential, something for your portfolio, a real company name on your resume, and a story you can actually tell in an interview.

You select from the available opportunity library based on your interests and goals. An onboarding assessment helps narrow the options if you're not sure where to start.

Yes. After the first included Micro-Internship, additional projects are available for $149 each. You can complete as many as you want during your membership.

Yes. You're encouraged to use modern tools, including AI, to work more effectively. You're still responsible for the quality and originality of what you turn in.

SCLA reviews your submission against published criteria and gives you feedback before your credential is finalized. The review exists so that every credential you earn reflects real work.

Study Edge is Academy's Academic Success System, a set of tools built to help you stay on top of school: goal tracking, time management, focus tools, and accountability, all designed for college students. It's included with every Academy membership.

Because better academic standing opens more career doors. Higher GPAs expand scholarship eligibility, improve graduate school options, and for Academy members, open the door to Honor Society. We built Study Edge as its own benefit because school and career success are connected, not separate goals.

Your college's tutoring, advising, and academic support services are still your primary resources. Study Edge gives you the personal productivity and goal-setting tools your college typically doesn't.

Yes. Academy members whose GPA meets their institution's threshold, typically 3.0 or higher, become eligible for an Honor Society invitation. Study Edge is designed in part to help you get there.

Yes, you can cancel a monthly membership anytime. Annual memberships are billed once and aren't refunded for unused time, but you'll keep access through the end of your billing period.

No. You pay directly for your own Academy access. There is no institutional fee and no billing through your college.

Your access doesn't end when you graduate. As long as your membership stays active you keep everything: your tools, your credentials wallet, and your dashboard. If your university email stops working, contact us and we'll move your account to a personal address. You can cancel a monthly membership anytime; an annual one runs through the full term you paid for.

At colleges partnered with SCLA, your college representative is a faculty or staff member who serves as the point of contact between your college and SCLA Academy. Select your college on the Find Your College page to see your representative's name and title. National Chapter members are supported directly by the SCLA team.

No. Your college representative is there if you have questions that go beyond what our support team covers, but day-to-day access and support come straight from SCLA. You don't need to involve them to register, use the tools, or complete a Micro-Internship.

SCLA Honor Society is invitation-only and recognizes students whose GPA meets their institution's threshold, typically 3.0 or higher. SCLA Academy is open enrollment, built around Career Foundations, and available to any enrolled college student regardless of GPA.

Everything in SCLA Academy is included in your Honor Society membership at no additional cost: tools, Micro-Internships, learning programs, credentials wallet, and community.

Yes. If your GPA reaches your institution's threshold while you're an Academy member, you become eligible for an Honor Society invitation. Upload your official GPA documentation, pay the difference between what you've paid for Academy and the $95 Honor Society fee, and your membership converts.

Yes. SCLA, The Society for Collegiate Leadership & Achievement, has more than 150,000 members across 850 colleges nationwide and holds accreditation from two independent accrediting bodies. SCLA Academy is built by the same organization and connects students to a network of 3,000+ company partners.

It depends on the college. Many colleges have formally partnered with SCLA, and at those institutions an administrator reviewed the program before making it available to students. Students at other colleges join directly through our National Chapter. Access and benefits are the same either way. Search the Find Your College directory to see your student's status.

Students use AI-powered career tools like Practice Round and Career Path Finder to practice interviews, build resumes, and explore career paths. They complete learning programs that count toward college credit and earn verifiable credentials. They work on employer-connected Micro-Internship projects and receive an SCLA-issued Letter of Recognition for each one completed. And they use Study Edge to strengthen their GPA and stay on track academically. Everything is self-paced and works on any device.

There is no cost to the institution or to families unless you choose to pay on behalf of your student.

Yes. We do not sell student data to any third party. Our student privacy practices were reviewed in 2026 by LeRoy Rooker, who directed the U.S. Department of Education office responsible for student privacy for twenty-one years and serves today as Senior Fellow Emeritus at the American Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers.
